Teaching with Blackboard

Self and Peer Assessment

In the classroom, self assessment and peer assessment can be valuable tools to improve student performance. The Self andPeer Assessment tool in Blackboard brings those benefits into Blackboard. Faculty pose questions that students resond during the submission period. Then, students evaluate themselves and a set number of their peers during the evaluation period.

Each Self and Peer Assessment is created in 3 steps. First, create the Self and Peer Assessment. Next, modify the Self and Peer Assessment to add questions for students to respond to. Finally, add criteria to each question so that students have guidelines for conducting the evaluations.
